And our flag was still there

Hard to believe it's been over six weeks since that terrible tornado tore its way through the city of Springfield, surrounding towns and neighborhoods. Here's just one of them--and it doesn't come close to measuring up to the damage inflicted on some others nearby.

My flag is not still there. Something worse than a tornado -- total disillusionment. I am no longer proud to be an American because all the things I learned about this country I recently learned don't apply.

Welcome to the gulag. I am almost ready to publicly burn the flag awarded to me when I received my Eagle Scout badge...

Ed,

What the heck are you talking about? You live a life of comfort unimaginable to people a hundred years ago. Turn your air conditioner on and go back to bed.

What a piece of work you are, Ed. Ever consider leaving America and going to live in a real gulag in Russia? Don't let the door hit you an your way out.

Wow, Ed's a flag burner and an eagle scout, interesting combination.

But I think you're lying about achieving eagle scout, Ed.

Burn, Baby, Burn!

Hey Ed, it's not all about YOU!
It's about people getting off their asses, helping their neighbors who need it, and appreciating what they have. Stop whining.

So it's just not Amherst you are not satisfied with? It appears to be the country as a whole. I think it might not be a bad idea for you to spend a few years in another country, to solidify your discontent. Please don't go on a rant this is not ment to fire you up. All I'm saying in a very peaceful and calm way is, I think we have allot of opportunities here and can obtain a very comfortable lifestyle if you work for it. I work very hard and nothing was ever given to me. I don't ask for freebies and don't expect any life doesn't owe me anything I didn't earn. So, please don't rag on our flag or this country unless you are willing to move to another one for an extented period of time.

Should we all chip in to buy Ed a one-way ticket to Russia so he can finally be happy and at peace with the world? Who's in?

Ed is saying that the Soviet Union came to Massachusetts. Amherst to be explicit.

That like Austria, we have had some sort of Anschluss and the Soviets are now running OUR country.

So buying me a ticket is moot, they are already here....
